The report makes a series of recommendations to reduce adolescent pregnancy, ranging from supporting multisectoral prevention programs aimed at the most vulnerable groups, to increasing access to contraceptive methods and sex education, among others.

“Lack of information and restricted access to comprehensive sex education and adequate sexual and reproductive health services have a direct relationship with adolescent pregnancy. Paid sick leave may be used for sick leave, the diagnosis, care or treatment of an existing health condition, or preventive care for the employee or the employee’s family member.

The employer cannot require the employee to use paid sick time; that is the employee’s choice. If the employee chooses to use paid sick time, the employer may require the employee to take a minimum of two hours of paid sick leave. It is up to the employee to determine how much paid sick time will be used.

For example, a worker who reports to work an 8-hour shift and only works for one hour should receive four hours of pay, one for the hour worked and three as pay for reporting, thus the worker receives pay for at least half of the eight-hour shift he or she expected to work.

Salary deductions may also be made if the exempt employee is absent from work for a full day or more for personal reasons other than illness and accident, while work was available to the employee, had they chosen to work.

Recommendation 1: decision making to limit life-sustaining treatment, according to the severity and the need for resources in an epidemic situation, taking into account distributive justice.

In cases in which the contacts are positive and/or are also in isolation, communication strategies should be established, such as by telephone, to guarantee daily and accurate information on the state of health of the family member admitted to the ICU. The holder of the right to information is the patient and, in the event of inability to understand or decide on the patient’s state of health, the patient’s family member or representative7, 8.

Compassionate use treatments must be administered informing the patient or his or her representatives of the lack of current evidence, probable side effects and possibilities of success that justify the clinical recommendation in epidemic situations.

Both agents lengthen the QTc to different degrees and interfere in the metabolic pathways of elimination, so the appearance of possible synergistic effects on QTc lengthening should be monitored. Ensure correct levels of K and Mg to avoid greater toxicity of these drugs14. If the patient presents elevated cardiac enzymes, bedside echocardiography should be performed to rule out alterations in myocardial contractility or the presence of pericardial effusion15. 15 It is advisable to rule out other cardiological alterations that may be contributing to the patient’s clinical picture. Equipment and probe protection measures should be adopted to avoid contamination of other patients.
